If I could pick one phrase to explain 2016 this would be it.
From health issues we could have never predicted to changes in schedules and getting a new dog, our life has been all over the place this year! I know for sure that I am grateful for how God has carried us through. This year was a true mix of emotions and looking back I wouldn’t change a thing because it makes us Stronger, More Compassionate, and more willing to do the hard things along side the fun things.
There is a lot to be thankful for and a lot to look forward to!
2016… My husband is an amazing man and I keep thinking, “Are you for real?” Of course he drives me crazy like a good husband should, but at every turn he’s there for me. He works full time and I have my full time design business and he more than meets me half way. So thankful for his steady patience and love.
2017… My goal, treat my husband like gold. G.O.L.D. That’s my goal; be kinder, more forgiving and listen listen listen!!
(date night at Creston Brewery, a favorite of ours!)
2016… I implemented a stricter bedtime in 2016, relegated my phone to the main floor at night and started reading before bed. That has made a HUGE difference in my mental health and happiness! I also fell in love with the most amazing alarm clock that helps me rise and shine happy, if you want to wake up feeling energized instead of annoyed at a loud buzzer you must try the Phillips Morning Wake up Light. It’s worth every penny!! So thankful for good sleep.
2017… Start running again and keep up my good sleep routine. I used to run the River Bank 25K, various 5k’s and a marathon even! I love to run but have fallen out of habit and this year I am going to get back at it. I tell myself, I have done it before I can do it again! I am joining Run GR and can’t wait to train with them, I am more successful when I am surrounded by people who are motivated and inspired.
2016… I dug deeper into running a fulfilling design firm; from financial reporting to education and a business coach to working with artisans and makers that get me weak in the knees, this year was JAM PACKED! At times I felt like the energizer bunny who might give out but I kept going and it’s paying off. The creative joy and personal connections design brings is worth every effort. I am so thankful for the people in my design world!
2017… I will be continuing to refine and make all my processes better in 2017. Travel, design education and connecting deeper with people are my priorities. I will also be launching a small non profit that uses design to bless others. This type of design work has been on my heart for years and in 2017 it’s all coming together! I can’t wait to update you on the mission and goals when we launch so stay tuned!

I hope you’re excited about 2017, the possibilities are at our finger tips! Get out there and make life happen according to your own definition of success, cheers!
