Michigan has a long history of vacation homes on the lake. This family set out to create a lake home that would bring their children, grandchildren, friends and extended relatives together for years to come, making a shared legacy of cherished memories to span generations. The design concept was to create a home that felt like it had age and permanence, using materials that would patina over time and add to the developing character. This resulted in a very layered approach to wall and ceiling finishes, reclaimed wood flooring, unlacquered metals and a delightful mix of warm and cool tones throughout the home give it a casual prominence. The personality of the home also lies in the use of color and pattern. Blue, red, coral, and green used throughout with bold wallpaper and fabrics add to the playful atmosphere. A new build, our team was commissioned to provide interior design from concept to completion outfitting all spaces with finishes, millwork, and furniture. Completed in fall of 2019 many years of family fun lie ahead for this family retreat!
