Rockford Renovation

This fun family went back and forth about renovating their current home or moving. The current home was outdated and lacked storage which made day to day family activities frustrating. Since they loved the location of their home, ultimately they decided to stay and renovate! One priority was to create a large ten foot island to replace a small island and breakfast table. Now the kitchen island gets a lot of use for casual meals and kids homework. The mix of traditional cabinetry and modern bar stools keeps the design fresh and reflects the clients personality!

When we started the home was dark and lacked architectural details. We brightened everything up with white cabinets to the ceiling and accessories in my clients favorite color of blue.

A pass through from the kitchen to the dining room was underutilized so we created a bar! Floor to ceiling cabinets were added on one side and a sink and refrigerator on the other, with mirror above to make the narrow space feel larger. Plenty of storage for glassware, wine, and kitchen odds and ends! New white oak wood flooring throughout the main level ties all the spaces together.
